A Distance Golf Ball That Helps Your Short Game

Like everyone, I’m constantly trying to figure out ways to add a few more yards to my game.  With so many available choices in golf balls, there’s almost an unlimited number of options available to try and test

Today’s review is on golf balls manufactured by Zero Friction.  Perhaps better known for their golf gloves, Zero Friction sells matte finish golf balls in 5 colors plus white.  I’ve seen plenty of people play with yellow and red balls, but green is a rarity . . . and this test represented a first time for me.

The green Zero Friction golf ball that I tested was a 2-piece distance ball with a surlyn cover, which the company claims should launch high and roll further to the tee.  RESULTS:  My first tee shot was right down the middle of the fairway and about as long as my other balls – great direction and good distance.  This same performance pattern repeated itself throughout the day.

Although I thought that these Zero Friction green matte balls would be hard to find in the rough, I really didn’t have any issues when I hit an occasional errant shot.  Most surprising was just how superior these balls reacted on my pitch shots – they hit and stopped quickly, just as well as my more costly urethane covered balls.  The Zero Friction balls appeared to be a bit harder than what I usually play, so when most everyone in my group was leaving putts short, I never did.

Overall, I think the Zero Friction ball performed well – not the longest golf ball that I’ve ever played, but perhaps similar to most other golf balls in terms of distance off the tee.  The Zero Friction ball did perform exceptionally well with my short game, which I really do take pride in.  Pitch shots were close and putts were never short . . . if it doesn’t get to the hole, it can never go in!

The company is Zero Friction. The company also makes, compression golf gloves, golf tees, and other golf accessories. Their website is www.zerofriction.com and I say give these golf balls a shot. The cost is very reasonable at $19.99 a dozen.
