Handheld GPS units, lasers and GPS watches have become commonplace. After looking for something that’s more convenient and easier to travel with, I was impressed to have come across the Distance Pro GPS Golf Glove.
The Distance Pro Golf Glove has access to over 35,000 golf courses, so finding your home course, or virtually any other domestic course should not be an issue. The Distance Pro Golf Glove is battery powered , and pairs wirelessly via Bluetooth with your smart phone. This GPS devise sits on the flap of your golf glove, ensuring that it does not get in the way when swinging your club. This light weight device weighs less than half an ounce!
The glove is also a universal fit style glove, so one size fits almost everyone. The glove is white and made from Cabretta leather, which is very soft to the touch. Another nice touch is that the unit is waterproof down to 10 meters.
When first using the Distance Pro Golf Glove on the golf course, you’ll need to first download the free app onto your phone. Then you must easily pair your Distance Pro golf glove to your smartphone (this pairing process was a breeze). Once paired, the app will say, “Connected” which means you’re good to go. Simply click on the “Play Golf” icon, and then select from a dropdown list of local courses. My home course popped up as the 2nd listed course and I was good to go.
The Distance Pro Golf Glove measures the distance to the front, back and center to the golf green. Your iPhone’s app will show the graphic of your entire hole, along with the actual distance to any spot on that same hole. After a few holes of using this the app, I decided to just use the glove’s GPS feature as a stand-alone option, as I know my home course very well. Although the full-featured app is great on an away-course that I may not be familiar with, using just the GPS feature on the glove worked perfectly well for my home course.
I used the Distance Pro golf glove for two 18 hole rounds as a test on my home course. Because I know all of my course’s distances, if the Distance Pro was off, I definitely would know it. Unlike my laser, the Distance Pro does not allow me to shoot the flag on the green. However, knowing the front, center and back was definitely better than not knowing anything and guessing. Additionally, the Distance Pro golf glove was much more convenient that taking my handheld laser out for every shot into the green.
Bottom line . . . the Distance Pro Golf Glove performed excellent! The distances were very accurate and I never had an issue. The next time I play at an away-course, the Distance Pro Golf Glove is what I’ll be taking with me. It’s without a doubt the easiest and most convenient and affordable way to have GPS distances on the golf course. The Distance Pro Golf Glove is a winner!
