A Great Direct To Consumer Laser Range Finder.

cobalt golf range finder

I prefer a laser range finder and have used them for years. I tried the watches and they are good, however when you have lots of uphill greens you need a laser to get you a much more precise distance than  front, back, and center distances only.

Cobalt Golf offers a direct to consumer Q-6 Slope Rangefinder that offers premium optics and slope, and I just had to try it. Here are some specs from the company….

  • Slope Compensation
  • SmartSwitch
  • PinSense Technology
  • Surge Technology
  • 600+ Yards (5-2500 yd total performance / 600+ yd to Pin / 2000 yd to Trees)
  • 7x Magnification
  • Waterproof (IPX7)
  • Brilliant Projection Display
  • Lifetime Warranty
  • Direct to Consumer / No Retail Markup

After taking it out of the box, I could immediately feel it was well made. It was very sturdy in my hands, and it has a simple on/off switch for slope which was great. I was very excited to take the Cobalt Golf Q-6 range finder to the course to see it in action for the first time. At the range I was shooting flags and the Q-6 PinSense hit the flags with ease and gave me an immediate vibration alert.

Here’s how the Cobalt Golf Q-6 performed after a dozen rounds of golf. First, the PinSense feature was great, allowing me to hit targets easily. The vibration alert was worked perfectly. Being able to avoid objects that could get in the way of the flag was not an issue. You are also able to adjust the brightness of the aiming area, which I’ve never seen on any other range finder. The on/off slope switch was simple to use, and the waterproof housing was very smart, as I unfortunately one time dropped some of my drink on it, and it didn’t affect the Q-6 at all.

Bottom line, the Cobalt Golf Q-6 Rangefinder did an excellent job. It was truly a great rangefinder and performed as good as, it not better than any other laser rangefinder I have used. The only minor issue I have is that the Q-6 is not magnetic. This means you have to buy a strap if you want to attach it to the golf cart, or put it in the golf cart storage area, which in my opinion is not as convenient.

The company website is www.cobalt-golf.com and the cost of the Q-6 with slope rangefinder is $450.00.
