A Tacky Golf Grip for a more Controlled Golf Swing.

NO1 golf grip

Maintaining complete control over your golf club starts with your golf grip. Having a golf grip that’s a bit tacky allows you to keep control, apply less pressure to the grip, and get better feedback. After searching for a really tacky golf grip, I found a Japanese company that sells high end golf grips in the U.S. These grips are tacky, soft or firm, and come in various sizes and color options.

The company is NO1 Grip, and they made some of the tackiest grips I’ve ever tried.  NO1 Grips will bring stability and added confidence to every swing you take. The NO1 Grips are not made from traditional rubber like most grips are, these grips are made from Elastomer with a unique dimple pattern.

NO 1 Grip offers several grips sizes and firmness to choose from. Here are some specs from the company…The company does offer a comparison chart on their website…

50 PRO – Our new proprietary elastomer features a 30% firmer compound providing solid feel while maintaining the signature sticky and tacky touch of the 50 series.

50 Series – A grip preferred by PGA Tour players like Y.E. Yang.
Developed with deep, alternating dimples, the 50 Series features a slightly thicker diameter and softer feel, providing ultimate traction and enhanced stability

48 series – Our standard size grip is designed with dimples aligned in a straight pattern for ideal touch and feedback. The 48 Series is the model grip for both casual and serious players.

43 series – Our lightest and thinnest grip created for ladies, juniors, and golfers with smaller hands. While maintaining the grip’s great feel, the 43 Series provides players with the comfort and the confidence needed for superior shot making.

UN Series – A hybrid grip with the signature velvety sticky touch of NO1 Grip. This grip combines a sticky, solid feel in the upper hand area, and a delicate softer feel in the lower hand area, which provides an unmatched sense of stability and confidence.

I tested the 43 series and the UN series grips over a 4-week period on 2 different golf clubs. The first thing you do is wet the grip, then dry it off to feel the tackiness. Once you do this, I assure you, you will feel a very tacky golf grip. On the golf course I used a west towel to wet the grips and a dry towel to dry them off so I could get the tackiest grip possible on every shot. The NO1 grips did allow me to grip the golf club every time with much less pressure, and with the really tacky feel I felt more confident with the golf club in my hand. I could tell I had much more control over my swing, and was able to focus on alignment, ball position, and other things on the golf course.

Bottom line, the NO1 Grips were tacky just like the company states, and performed extremely well. They definitely allow for much less grip pressure and better control. The NO1 Grips are used by Y.E Yang and other golf professions. The grips feel excellent in good weather and in bad weather these grips stay soft, textured and provide excellent feedback.

The company website is www.no1grip.com. Grip prices are between $16-$17 per grip and they currently offer free shipping with orders over $50.
