An Aftermarket Shaft You Want!

steadfast golf shaft

I’ve only bought one aftermarket shaft for a Callaway driver a few years ago. It was supposed to go longer and with less dispersion (straighter) than the stock shaft it came with. The fitter told me it’s worth it and I paid $300+ for it. After about 4 rounds, it was clear this shaft was not for me. So I swore off aftermarket driver shafts, until now!

I saw an on Instagram and that that they were advertising a Made in the U.S.A. aftermarket shaft for only $99. On the company website it clearly shows how their driver shafts, according to laboratory tests, are much better than the other high priced shafts. The company’s website also explains that stock shafts are like buying a car with a basic engine and trim level, vs getting the performance package with more horsepower. I read some reviews and decided to take another swing with the hopes of longer and straighter drives.

I received the company’s senior shaft and it came with an adapter for my current Ping G410 driver and decent grip. I went to the range and hot a few dozen golf balls which all like usual went straight and seemed long. But as we know the real test is on the golf course, so time for the real test.

To date I have played over 20 rounds which the shaft and without question I am 10-20 yards longer. I have had people I golf with asking what’s up? I would usually be way behind them and now I am close to their golf ball or sometimes even ahead of them. I wish I had another reason for the added distance but the only change was the shaft, that’s it. As far as dispersion, I am normally a pretty straight hitter so that may have improved also, but I hit a lot of fairways, so that was a little harder to gauge. I can say that my misses seem to be not as bad so I can say that my dispersion has gotten better to some degree on poor shots.

The company is Steadfast Golf, and here’s what they say about what makes their shafts so good…..

What makes Steadfast Shafts perform so well? What’s the technology?
We start with premium carbon fiber that costs 10 times more than what our competitors use. This premium material (and some proprietary manufacturing processes we can’t share) allow us to create finely tuned, superlight, and effectively “spineless” shafts with less than 1 degree of torque (twisting) that deliver the most distance and accuracy for YOUR swing (fast, medium or slow)…and you get these performance gains regardless of how you adjust your driver.

Aren’t all shafts made this way?
Nope. Unlike others who simply slap on or take off material to create different shaft flexes, we develop each flex from the ground up as an individual shaft. Each flex has taken months and sometimes years to achieve the performance goals and strict tolerances we set for it…and for ourselves.

The Steadfast Golf shafts cost range from $79 with no adapter and grip to around $106 with adapter and grip and their shafts can fit most brand name drivers. The company also sells a 3 wood shaft for a similar price. Their new Jupiter shaft is  available from Senior to X and they all come with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee and a lifetime product guarantee.

The company website is www.steadfastgolf.com and I highly encourage everyone to go their if you want more distance and straighter drives!
