Can you safely hit golf balls indoors, yes!

Can I safely hit a golf ball indoors?

There’s nothing worse than being cooped up during the long winter months. I personally find that the downtime really hurts my golf game and I wish I could be playing or at least hitting golf balls. In my area there no are heated driving ranges so winter is the worst time of the year. Fortunately, I found a really cool product that lets you hit golf balls indoors and also provides great feedback on where the ball is being struck on the golf club face.

The product is called the Impact Improver and it’s by a company called, Fighting Golf.. The Impact Improver’s goal is to provide instant feedback on every swing as to where the ball struck on the club face.

I opened the package and took the product into my basement to try it out. I have over-sized irons so I had to push a little hard to get the “strike shield” installed on the iron – the provided red balls stick to the “strike shield” upon impact. . It found it much easier to install on blades or smaller irons.

Fortunately for me, I had a small hitting mat in my basement which I set the red balls on. After carefully testing my swing to ensure that I wouldn’t damage my ceiling, I took a swing and the red ball stuck to the strike shield just as the product was designed to do.. The ball’s placement on the shield provided exact feedback as to where the ball struck on the face of my iron (pictured below). I went on to hit about two dozen shots, every time the ball stuck exactly on the strike shield – I must admit it was actually fun and provided great feedback. . My only suggestion would be to perhaps make the red balls a little smaller, but overall, the Impact Improver was simple to set up, fun to use and provided very good feedback. NOTE: You may want some type of mat to hit off of, as I didn’t want to take a chance on damaging the carpet by hitting directly off the floor.

Here is what the company says about the Impact Improver…

Hopefully your clubs are part of the 90% that it fits. You can go to my new
website: www.buyimpactimprover.com and there is a list of clubs that it fits on our How It Works page.

I can honestly say this product does exactly what it sets out to do. It allows you to swing a real iron and see exactly where the ball would have struck your clubface. This only works with irons and you have to make sure you have the height in your home or garage so you don’t hit the ceiling. Overall, it’s a really good product for anyone, especially people who can’t hit golf balls when it’s cold outside or have no place to hit balls in the winter.

The company’s website is www.fightinggolf.com and the price for the Impact Improver on their website is $39.99.

If you are looking for a unique training aid, this fits the bill. If you have no way to hit balls in the winter months, I really like this product. Going into the basement or garage for a half hour or so and seeing where the ball is hitting the face of your irons for me is helpful and fun. I also feel this would make a great gift idea.
