I play various golf balls throughout the year to try to find the best one for my golf game, and I keep finding new companies coming out with new golf balls to try. So, I try them all to keep searching for the best one, and I found a company that makes a really high quality golf ball at a very good price.
The company is Fairway Golf, and they make 3 different golf balls. The Eagle Pro which is a 3 piece, Urethane, 105 compression golf ball. The Birdie Tour which is a 3 piece, Surlyn cover, 97 compression golf ball, and The Flamingo which is a 2 piece, Surlyn cover softer golf ball.
The Fairway Birdie Tour is more my type as it compares to the Bridgestone e6, and the Callaway Superhot. The Flamingo compares more to the Titleist Tour Soft or the Callaway Warbird, and The Eagle Pro compares more to the Titleist Pro V1 and the Bridgestone Tour B.
Time to take the Fairway Golf Birdie Tour ball out on the golf course for some testing. My first drive so very impressive I really couldn’t believe how far it went. Being a shorter hitter I hit 14 drives and all but 1 was dead center in the fairway. Iron shots were as long and straight as my current Bridgestone BRX golf ball. Wedges were good but spun a little less than my Bridgestone golf balls, and that I assume is because of the cover.
Bottom line, after playing the Fairway Birdie Tour for about 4 weeks, they performed excellent. In comparison to my Bridgestone BRX and also the Callaway Chrome Soft I play, they were as good as if not slightly longer off the tee. Another benefit of the Fairway Birdie Tour golf ball is their price, only 22.99/dozen. Almost half of the cost of what I was paying for my other golf balls.
