Golf stores and pro shops generally all share the same brands including Nike, Puma, Adidas, Footjoy and Under Armour. These are all terrific brands, but I’m always looking for premium golf apparel that is high quality, unique and a step-above.
I stumbled upon the VUGA brand and decided to try a polo shirt and a pair of golf pants to see how they compare with a few of the better known brands in my wardrobe. Specifically, I went with the Milton Classic Polo Shirt and the Anton 5 Pocket Pants. I was hopeful with Vuga for golf clothing that allows me to swing freely and has breathable fabric, so on hot and humid days the clothes work with me and not against me.
I wore the Milton Polo on a very warm and humid day as I golf in the Mid-Atlantic during the summer, and our summers are filled with hot and really humid days. Staying dry and comfortable is a must! The Milton Polo from Vuga was a nice shade of blue and felt lightweight, so I was excited to wear it. I know that a clothing’s “feel” is subjective and the best way to describe how the shirt felt was that I could barely notice that I was wearing it. The shirt never got sweaty; it had no odor after my round and never interfered with my swing. This is one of the best golf shirts I’d ever worn.
The Vuga long pants I tested are the Anton 5 Pocket Pants. I waited for cooler fall-type weather to test these. The Anton pants were a grey color and I found them to be very nice looking. Wearing pants with 5 pockets was more than enough as I try to keep as little in my pockets as possible, however it was a nice touch. The pants were lightweight and very comfortable. Surprisingly, a few people actually asked me the brand of pants that I was wearing. I assume they liked the look of them.
After playing on a cool 60 degree day, the pants felt great. My polo shirt never came undone which occasionally happens during a round, and I stayed warm and comfortable throughout the day. We actually played 27 holes that day and it was a pleasure wearing the Anton pants.
Both the Milton Polo and Anton 5 Pocket Pants have a very classic style to them. Both were very lightweight, and are what I would consider to be golf performance apparel that can definitely be worn on or off the golf course. The materials used in the polo and pants from VUGA appear to be of much higher quality than most of the other brands I have purchased in the past. The clothes felt cool, comfortable and on point. A real premium product.
