How often do you clean your golf grips? Not Nearly Often Enough!

pro play grip cleaner

We all know clean grips can only help with your grip on the golf club, so why do so many people never or rarely clean them? Well in my case, it’s such a pain… first you need to grab a bucket, then fill it with soap and water, then grab a towel. Now it’s time to swish around the grip in the bucket and clean each one, then you need to dry each grip with a towel, and wait 30-60 minutes for the grips to dry.

I found a much simpler solution! It’s a product called, ProPlay cleaning wipes. It’s similar to a large baby wipe, however these are made specifically to clean your grips. The ProPlay Club Grip cleaning wipes are scent free, and will not leave an oily residue on your hands, unlike baby wipes. Also they are safe to use on all types of grips, leather, rubber and composite.

I used the ProPlay club cleaning grips after my last several rounds, and it really makes a difference, Especially here in the Mid-Atlantic where it gets really hot and humid in the summer. Your hands definitely sweat, and the sweat makes your grip less tacky and more slippery, which is not how you want your grips to feel to help promote a confident swing.

Using the ProPlay cleaning wipes is very easy. You simply take one of the ProPlay large club cleaning grips and clean each grip. Each grip takes about 15 seconds, you simply run the cleaning wipe over the entire grip. It leaves no mess, and you now have fresh grips in a matter of a few minutes. Awesome!

The company website is www.goproplay.com and the cost for a pack of 20 wipes is only $9.99. The company also sells a ball/club cleaning wipes which uses a different formulation, which works great to clean your golf club heads from grass, sand and debris, and gets your ball clean as a whistle.

Overall, a great idea to simplify your grip, club, and ball cleaning. I highly recommend to everyone to clean your grips after every round using the ProPlay club cleaning wipes. Clean grips = lower scores!
