I’m probably a minority of golfers who really enjoy practicing my putting. I have used and continue to use multiple training aids to try to improve, and I feel I’m a pretty good putter, however some of the putting training aids are cumbersome.
I recently found a really unique and helpful putting training aid that truly helps with your putting alignment. It uses a chalk line and a template and is from Chalk Line Golf. Chalk Line Golf offers a smart yet simple to use putting training aid, and I’ll explain what it is and how to use it.
The Chalk Line Golf training aid includes a lightweight metal plate (template) with multiple lines in it that you use with a Chalk pen to create alignment lines on any putting surface (pictures below). The chalk line is approved by superintendents and easily washes off with water. You simply set the template on the green alignment towards where you want to putt towards and then use the Calk pen to draw lines which will act as your alignment aid.
The template also has multiple holes in it that offers you drills to put tees in specific positions to putt through with or without the chalk lines. There are drills using the tees locations that make for an easy drill and holes that make for harder putting drills. This makes the Chalk Line template a training aid for anyone from beginner to advanced golfer.
Bottom line, the Chalk Line Golf template and Chalk pen allow for multiple putting drills for all skill levels, and is very easy to place in your golf bag and take with you. I have been using the Chalk Line Golf template, Chalk pen, and drills they offer for about a month along with a new putter. I have noticed my putting alignment on the golf course where it matters most has definitely improved and I can see improvement in my putts per round. Overall, very helpful, convenient to take with you, and improvement for all skill levels.
