A Putter Shaft that Wows!

LA Golf

Putting is so critical to your score that I am always searching for anything that can help me putt better or lower the number of putts per round. I do consider myself a decent putter, typically averaging between 30-32 putts per round. However, if I can shave a stroke or two a round without changing technique or grip type I am all in.

After doing some searching and researching, I found a company that has a new putter shaft that may help so I had to try it. The company is LA Golf and their golf putter shaft is right up my alley. Number one, it is a damn good-looking shaft! You may or may not be familiar with LA Golf shaft brand, a company owned by tour players, but you have most definitely seen their shafts all over your regular PGA Tour coverage. Ricky Fowler and Dustin Johnson both have recently gamed them, and Bryson Dechambeau has had a LA Golf shaft in his arm lock for some time now rolling the rock to quite a bit of success this year.

If it is good enough for those PGA tour players, it’s definitely something worth trying. The one I tested, the TPZ One35, paired nicely with my Scotty Cameron Newport 2. The shaft came in a pearlescent white and screams premium golf shaft. The feel was noticeable immediately. The company claims “the TPZ putter shaft is stiffer than all other shafts available on tour and the extremely stiff, low torque shaft eliminates any of the wiggle or deflection of the putter head caused by traditional shafts, yet still feels buttery soft, which leads to better distance control and ensuring the ball starts on your intended line.” I would have to agree. The putter head feels so stable coming through the hitting/impact zone. The consistency with which I was able to square up the face was astounding. I would say this is even more noticeable on longer lag putts where the stroke is longer.

The price point on the LA Golf putter shafts is at the upper end of the market. However, I believe it is more important to invest in the club you hit the most and would highly recommend this shaft as a replacement for what is currently in your putter now. Go see your local fitter and ask them how an LA Golf shaft can help you.

The company website is www.lagolfshafts.com and shaft prices range from $290 – $410. The company website also offers the exact specs of every shaft.
