Proper grip pressure is Critical on Every Shot.

accuhit grip training aid

Using either too light a grip on your golf club or too tight a grip (death grip) is what every teaching professional talks about regarding the proper grip pressure. I’ve heard several times, to stop using such a tight grip, and to loosen my grip, but how much, and how do I find the correct amount of grip pressure? I think this is a question many people have and really have a tough time finding the answer to. After a lot of searching, I found a great training aid that does just what a lot of people including myself need, a way to grip the club with the correct amount of pressure.

The Accuhit is a grip enhancing training aid that works on all of your golf clubs (not putters) to help players hit the golf ball straighter and farther. Most golfers overuse their thumbs and forefinger which influences and can dominate your entire swing, however practicing with the Accuhit grip training aid with a mildly firm grip will allow for a tension free forearm and shoulder. These are the keys to the proper grip pressure.

To use the Accuhit you simply put it on any iron or Driver (it is very simple to do, instructions are included) and the Accuhit becomes the resting point for your thumb and index finger. By practicing this, using the Accuhit it will reduce the amount of unnecessary pinching pressure exerted on the golf club. It obviously feels a little unusual at first, yet that feeling goes away pretty fast and your new grip pressure will start to become second nature.

I used the Accuhit on my Driver, my 9 iron, and my 6 iron at the range for 3 weeks to test it out. It takes some getting used, as it’s a training aid and with all training aids the more you use them and continue to use them the better they work. Each time I hit about 10-15 balls with the Accuhit on the golf club, and then another 10- 15 with the Accuhit off the golf club. Without question, the golf ball was going straighter.

The real test is always on the golf course; was my new grip pressure going to work. The answer is Yes! Since using the Accuhit (and I continue to use it at the range) my grip pressure has remained at a more constant pressure and my overall play has been more consistent (straighter shots). I like this training aid as it allows you to use it on your own golf clubs at the range, it’s very easy to take on and off, it’s portable, and it works.

The company website is www.accuhitgrip.com and the cost for 1 Accuhit is only $19.95 and for 2 Accuhit’s you save $10 and the cost is only $29.95.
