I’m always heard that putting straight back and straight through was the best way to putt. Although, I’ve noticed my putting stroke normally does not flow straight back and straight through, so I always thought my putting stroke was a bit unique, until I learned what I was doing was correct all along. A putting training aid I was reading about was based on the concept that the putting stroke does have an arc, and that is the only way…
There are tons of putting training aids on the market, and many of them I have reviewed are do offer some help without question. However, there is a new way of improving your putting using a science backed technology that is patent pending. It’s a very unique and amazing way to improve your putting that I have never seen before and had to try. The company is PuttTrue, and here’s how their process works. First, they gather data using an…
I would guess that a significant number of golfers have the putter grip that came with the putter. Whether the grip feels right, looks good, or has any flair is really not taken into much account assuming the putter works well. Well, there is a very cool putter grip option out there, and I found the one that will make you say, yes I need that one for my putter! The company I’m referring to is Sweet Rollz Golf. They…
Putting is so important to every golfer. We use our putter more than any other golf club so finding the best putter and making sure it has the best components is extremely important. While we are happy to spend $400-$500+ on a driver, and make sure we have the correct shaft and grip to fit us best, most golfers just buy a putter off the rack and assume it has the best of everything built right in. What if it…
Putting is the real key to lower scores. You putt more times in every round than you do anything else; as high as two to three times as much as any other golf club in the bag. Finding a putting system that works and helps you to use your putter fewer times is the true key to lower scores. I have found such a really unique putting training system, it’s called the Putting Tunnel. It visually trains proper alignment for…
I’ve owned several indoor putting mats and to be honest at best they were just ok, and could certainly could be improved to really help improve your putting skills. Most indoor putting mats are made for you to put towards a hole or cup, in one direction or if you pay more in 2 directions, and in my opinion aimlessly putting back and forth is not a great way to become a better putter. An indoor putting mat I’ve been…
I’ve played with virtually all the major putter brands – from Scotty Cameron to Ping and Odyssey to TaylorMade. I continue to search for a putter that has what I consider to be the perfect balance of feel, weight and roll. For the past 10 years, I’ve chosen to use mallet-style putters and typically add 1 or 2 to my arsenal annually. When I came across a premium direct-to-consumer putter at a very reasonable price (around $100), I had to try…
After noticing that Justin Rose was playing with a uniquely styled flat, green colored putter grip at a recent PGA tour event, I did my research and found that Justin’s grip was made by the Flat Cat Golf Company. Flat Cat’s grips are USGA approved, are offered in 5 assorted colors with more colors on their way soon. Realizing that all Flat Cat grips have flat sides, I decided to order their “Slim”, “Svelte”, “Pistol”, and their new ”Solution” grip.…
