An Ultra-light and portable training aid!

If there is one thing that doesn’t work for me are training aids that you just can’t take to the range. I really prefer being able to use a training aid on the range before I go out and play a round, so a portable training aid is a huge benefit.

The Tour Striker Smart Ball is exactly what I was looking for to improve my ball striking skills. It comes in a very small package and you simply blow up the ball, attach it to the included lanyard and your ready to go. The lanyard is adjustable so worries about it not fitting.

I’ve seen and I’m sure many others of you have seen Justin Rose and Martin Hall on the Golf Channel using this exact type of training aid. It’s a great way to get the correct feel for how the arms and body should work together in the golf swing. Here’s what the company says about the Smart Ball….

*Synchronizes Your Body And Arms – Putter To Driver!

*Rids You Of The Dreaded “Chicken Wing”

*Provides The Feeling Of Striking From the Inside Out

*Help You “Get Through” The Shot – No Quitting!

*Lengthens And Strengthens Body Pivot

I tested the Tour Striker Smart Ball over the course of 6 weeks, and here is what I learned. First, as mentioned it is ultra-portable and lightweight. Second, using it at the range before going to golf was very helpful and productive. Third, it allows you to work on all shots from pitch shots to half swings to full driver swings. The results so far have been great. I could really feel for the first time a connection between my arms and my body, as it was forcing me to stay connected and make much better swings.

As with all training aids it takes practice. The first few days or so I was not able to swing with the ball staying connected to my arms. I decided to do what I should have done first which was watch the 3-5 minute videos the company provides on their website that teach you what to do with each type of swing (pitch, half, full). I started to get the hang of it and after a few weeks I was striking the golf ball beautifully. Overall, a great training aid, portable, and great videos to help get you started.

The company website is www.tourstriker.com and the cost of the Tour Striker Smart Ball is only $42.99.
