Can a golf tee add yards to your Drives?

Can a golf tee add yards to your drives?

I’ve been searching for the golf tee that can extend my drives for a long time. I heard about Champ Fly Pro Tees from someone at my club, so I searched them out online.

I’m always looking for those “extra yards” without changing my swing. The Champ Fly Pro Tee packaging claims that their tees are the longest, the most accurate and the most durable.

I’ve tried many other tees, and my favorite are the Martini tees (see my review). I’m currently using the same Martini golf tee for 12 rounds . . . and counting! I was hopeful that these Champ Fly Pro Tees would be at least as good. Although I normally use a 3 ¼” tee, I chose to use the Champ Fly 2 ¾” Tee or this test.

The tees seemed to react fine, but I found them to be no longer or more accurate than any other tee I’ve used. On the 10th, the tee broke – the tee’s head flew off the stem. These tees cost about $2.00 each, so I was pretty disappointed that the Champ Fly Pro Tee couldn’t even last 1 full round. The tested tee lasted for exactly 7 drives, then caput. My swing speed, as noted in other reviews, is in the mid 80’s, so I can only assume anyone with higher swing speeds would have failures even faster?

To date, I have not found a golf tee that adds anything noticeable to my drives The plastic tees are definitely more durable than the wood, but so far I’ve not been able to find a golf tee that dramatically improves my distance or accuracy. I still feel that Martini tees are the most durable, but don’t add much to distance. . I’m just not sure if any golf tee can really help the average golfer.

Based on my experience, I would not be a buyer of the Champ Fly Pro Tees again. I did not notice any additional distance or accuracy, and the Champ Fly Pro Tees were definitely not as durable as the Martini tees that I’ve used for a long time.

I purchased the 4 pack on Amazon.com for $4.14 plus $4.57 in shipping.

I’ll still be searching for the golf tee that adds yards to my swing, so check back as I’m always adding more reviews to this blog.
